![]() ![]() In 1987, the Air Max 1 debuted with visible Air technology in its heel, allowing fans more than just the feel of Air cushioning-suddenly they could see it. Revolutionary Air technology first made its way into Nike footwear in 1978. Rubber outsole for added traction and durability.Bringing nature to the city, the prominent arch draws inspiration from a whale's tail and adds structure while the classic fingers on the side nod to palm trees and ocean waves.Originally designed for performance running, Nike Air provides lightweight cushioning that lasts.Lightweight and durable, the layered upper is made from at least 20% recycled materials by weight: The iconic chassis is crafted from some recycled plastic while nearly every part includes a percentage of reclaimed materials. And for added stability, it updates your Tuned Air experience with our innovative Crater Foam midsole. Rugged details, including a reinforced toe and durable plastic cage, ramp up your attitude with outdoor-inspired vibes. My go-to black sneaker for almost anything. Returning to the topic of size, this is a release that I wear 11.5 of, but I don't feel that's sizing up for me, I simply wear 11 in some sneakers (Jordan 1, AM90.), and 11.5 in others (More Uptempo, Kukini.). Fans of seamless deep, dark blacks might not be satisfied, but the different ebon shades here actually draw positive attention to the unique blend of materials used on the shoe. The Terrascape iteration of the Plus, has, I feel, actually improved on the original, in many ways. I'm a little biased, since the Air Max Plus/TN's have always formed the best for my foot and lifestyle, but I truly feel this is one of the most underrated silhouettes Nike has to offer at the moment. ![]()
